Community Outreach & Charity Initiatives

At Reed Optical, we believe strongly in giving back to the community and caring for the eyes of all those in need.  Outreach programs represent an opportunity to show the community the level of commitment our optometrists have to their community. The staff also plays an important role in community outreach.

In May 2012, we held our Second Annual Sight for Seniors Day.  This year we were able to provide complimentary eye exams and eyewear to 25 participants!  See our facebook page (www.facebook.com/reedoptical) for photos!

Throughout 2011, we donated gift certificates and merchandise to many charitable organizations, including, but not limited to Kiwanis Club, Local Rotary clubs, PTA, Steven's High Senior Night, Claremont Dog Park, and the Claremont Fire Station.

In September 2011, we hosted a book drive to support our local schools and library!  Over 700 books were donated thanks to our wonderful patients!  If you're a reader, please save your used books for our drive next year!

In April 2011, we held our first (annual, we hope) Sight for Seniors Day during which we provided eye exams and glasses at no cost to thirteen local seniors! Hopefully we will be able to expand this program in future years.

In October 2010, we organized our Eye on Nutrition Food Drive, which allowed us to work with other merchants in the downtown area to hold a fun contest and collect food to benefit the Claremont Soup Kitchen.
